VTR select allows a new range of applications for scanning stages
piezosystem jena offers the new PXY AP, the lowest profile piezo scanning stage of its class. Along with its large clearance aperture, the PXY AP enables the installation of diverse sample holders and other fixtures.
For accurate scanning applications, two dedicated axis configurations are normally used: a fast axis with a long motion range and a second axis performing small and precise steps on a linefeed. Therefore, piezosystem jena has developed the innovative VTR select feature which makes it possible to combine different travel motion for different axes. Variable travel range selections from 24 µm to 700 µm for each individual axis allow the adjustment of the nanopositioning system for a wide range of special applications. As a unique advantage, the dynamic performances can be combined according to the specific requirements.
VTR select is first introduced with the extremely flat and ultra-fast scanning stage PXY AP. The integration of the bi-directional nanoX® - design with active resetting forces leads to a new level of dynamics and precision. Even under full load, pre-selected positions can be reached in milliseconds with nanometer accuracy whereas the risk of overshooting is actively minimized by the innovative design. This is an essential characteristic, especially for high-speed scanning. In combination with the integrated high resolution capacitive direct metrology by piezosystem jena, the PXY AP series is set up for very accurate position stability, linearity, and reproducibility in controlled motion.
Together with the MIPOS lens positioning system, the PXY AP functions perfectly as a sample table for precise imaging in 3D microscopy.
